A good master register answers four questions: which record is required, who prepares it, what stage it has reached and what prevents its close-out.

01

Mandatory fields

  • Work discipline, area, system and drawing reference.
  • Record title, responsible person and planned date.
  • Current revision, review status and open comments.
  • Related materials, tests, drawings and acceptance records.
  • The final file location within the completion dossier.
02

Statuses that support control

  • Not started — the work has not yet been performed.
  • In preparation — an owner and planned date have been assigned.
  • Under review — the document has been submitted to the responsible party.
  • For revision — comments remain open.
  • Accepted — the final version has been registered.

When a ready-made package is useful

If the register is being created from scratch and rules for coding, responsibility and weekly reconciliation are also needed, the ProjectDocs starter package saves time and reduces the risk of overlooking a critical process.
